Band Membership & Vacancies

The Essex Concert Band often have vacancies for new members. Details of specific vacancies are listed below.

As a group we aim to set high standards, giving playing opportunities to musicians who have typically attained a grade 6 ABRSM level or higher.  Consideration will also be given to those who do not hold a formal qualification but do perform to an equivalent standard.

If a vacancy exists, players are usually invited to join the band for a trial period. Such a candidate may then be invited to become a member of the band at the discretion of the Musical Director.

Membership of the band is by subscription which is paid by standing order at £15/month.  Subscriptions help to pay for our rehearsal venue and the general running costs of the band.
 
If you would like to join the band or wish to know more about becoming a member you can contact us by email or via our Facebook page.  Although we are an adult band, if students under 18 years old would like to join us, we can accommodate you providing that you have a responsible adult accompanying you to rehearsals and concerts.
